Gaining momentum is the hardest part of losing weight. After all, once you have enough positive inertia, things become easier and easier. The biggest problem here, though, is that many people simply do not know where to start. After all, there are so many different plans and approaches out there. Thus, here are 5 dieting action items you can do right now: 1. Start writing things down: You won’t have to do this forever, but you do need an initial data set of what you are eating. Having this log will show, without any doubt, where your diet needs to be tweaked. Even better, studies have shown that nutrition logs increase weight loss success rates. 2. Stop skipping breakfast: Aside from the increases in energy that breakfast provides, it also makes sure that your fat burning hormones are produced at maximum capacity. Skip breakfast, and your ability to lose fat will be severely compromised. 3. Stop drinking calories: In other words, stay away from juices, lattes, coffee with sugar, smoothies and any other calorie-laden drink. If you really need that sweet flavor with your liquids, stick to water or artificially sweetened beverages. Keep in mind that liquid calories are the worst type of calories. 4. Have a regular meal schedule: This is one the best things you can do to make sure your diet doesn’t fail. You see, scheduling meals prevents "just in time" eating. And this type of eating usually revolves around junk food and whatever you can get your hands on as soon as possible. 5. Stay away from processed food: The biggest enemy here being fast food. You see, fast food, even when consumed in small quantities, has substances that can alter your metabolism for prolonged periods of time. So make sure you take as much fast food out of your diet as possible. Beginning an exercise and weight loss plan is usually the most difficult obstacle for most people. Once you get started, though, things get easier and easier because the behaviors become part of your routine. So don’t delay here in taking action, start now!
